Anima, meaning ‘soul' in Italian, speaks true to the dishes prepared, as a tastement of the emotionality of food and the importance of interaction with guests. It is for that reason that the kitchen is open-fronted and screened with ambered glass, so all can admire the chefs work. Anima opens to a charming courtyard for outdoor dining, a lush oasis with over 400 flourishing plants, climbing vines, teak benches, and Italian-style lanterns, evoking a Roman garden vibe. Comida increíble, servicio perfecto, decoración en el jardín top! Pongo 4 estrellas porque nos dieron una mesa muy pequeña y a pesar de que dijimos que queríamos una mesa más grande para poder estar más cómodos, no nos la dieron, Y había mesas grandes vacías. En un restaurante de este nivel no debería haber mesitas tan diminutas. No obstante, nos encantó la comida y el servicio. Volveremos.

Had high expectations after reading the reviews on OpenTable however we were extremely disappointed in the food. We both ordered the lamb and two side dishes. Both side dishes were cold when they arrived and when we questioned the waiter, he asked us if we would like them warmed up which we said we would and they came back to the table barely warm.. the plate was cold so by the time we started eating the lamb was tepid and the sauces were cold on the plate so that wasn’t particularly pleasant either and then as we had the side dishes the roasted pumpkin and some courgette dish neither of us wanted to eat them because they just weren’t very nice. We also ordered the focaccia which was absolutely delicious. One of the nicest I have ever eaten and we didn’t have dessert because by the time we had finished our meal we really just wanted to leave so it was an extremely expensive meal for a very small amount of food and the restaurant was very quiet, only two or three tables but when we arrived and asked to move to a booth we were told we couldn’t even though they were empty for the duration of our meal.

We had an amazing evening at Anima. It was the celebration of our 40th Wedding Anniversary and the moment they knew this, they were even more amazing. We received a hand made card from the staff. All in all this was one of our most pleasant experiences in a good restaurant. The food was exceptional and they have a great wine list. If we ever get to Rome again, we will eat there. And stay in the beautiful Hotel it is attached to.
