Añada on Gertrude Street in Fitzroy, serves a tapas menu mainly influenced by the food of Andalusia, Southern Spain and the flavours of the Mediterranean.

Originally founded in 2008 by Jesse and Vanessa Gerner, the team at Añada highly value sustainable efforts and community outreach, and champion local farmers, producers and providers as often as possible.

In the years since its opening, Añada has grown to be known as a neighbourhood staple, offering a menu that pairs authentic Spanish foods with an extensive wine and sherry list. The warm, intimate atmosphere is complemented by knowledgeable, friendly service.

Absolutely loved our dinner at Añada. I'd finished a week of work (including the Saturday & Sunday at work) and wanted to reconnect with my wife for a lovely late Sunday dinner date. Añada was perfect. The food was really varied, all of it tasty. Loved that we could pick and choose which small tapas we wanted, and it all arrived very quickly. Absolutely delicious. Initially it was a bit of a wait to order our first drinks and whatnot, but the restaurant was quite busy at the time. After that the service was friendly and attentive. Unpretentious vibes with upbeat Latin vinyl records playing from 2 turntables. The ambiance was warm and friendly. At times pretty loud but not unpleasantly so, it just felt vibrant. With a decent new world wine list, all of it quite affordable, we had some cocktails and the sangria which were great. Altogether a great experience and we'll definitely return.

Food was beautiful and reasonably priced. Excellent spot to try some spanish dishes. Restaurant has great low lighting and decoration. Awesome spot for a first date, although a little noisy inside the restaurant. Also wonderful service with spanish staff. Overall a great experience for some friends or for a date, not tooo busy and great spot in fitzroy.
