I went here on a recommendation from a friend, and all I can say is WOW, Ammoora does not disappoint. Both the zero-proof cocktails and the alcoholic options were excellent. The desserts were eclectic and packed with flavor. However, my absolute favorites of the evening were the lamb kofta kebab and the fresh, house-made pita bread with baba ghanouj. Especially the pita bread. This place has become one of my new favorite restaurants in Baltimore, and we will definitely be coming back!

Words cannot begin to describe how incredible this place is. Ammoora is an experience. From the waitstaff, to the cocktails, the atmosphere, each dish, is complex yet true to its Syrian heritage. Dean took incredible care of our party ensuring that our waters were full, we had a place to put our purses, and that our meal was appropriately coursed out. The manager made his round to us and enjoyed long conversation despite the restaurant being full. we never felt rushed or like a burden. The staff was thrilled to share their space with us and we were thrilled to receive every aspect of it.

Upon entering we were told to wait for our table to clean up, and despite arrive early we were not seated til 20 minutes after the reservation time. This is an absolutely unacceptable behavior for a reservation with forefront deposit. We were served with a slightly broken plate, which on itself wouldn’t be a big problem, since we simply told the waiter to get a new one. Problem is the exact same plate soon made a return to our table at a later course. One of my friend ordered a medium tenderloin, he was served a medium-well, almost well done steak instead. The kitchen fired a new one, which took an additional 20 minutes. Right after he finished this course, and still waiting for the dessert, we were approached by a staff who seems to be the manager and were politely informed that we were taking too long with our table. He seems to be completely unaware the reason it is taking this long, as a fat 40 minutes were wasted because of their mistakes. This last straw is regarding dessert. We have a 3 people reservation under the prix fixe “Silk Road Experience”, which supposedly came with a shared fix dessert. The problem is we were told that we get to pick only 1 additional dessert order, and they have allowed us to pick 2 additional as a way to apologize for their previous mistake. This sounds extremely odd once the additional dessert is served, for it is very obvious these are single-person portion food. What kind of menu is this that for 3 men dining experience you get a shared and a single person dessert? It sounds like the staff were trying to gaslight us. I think they were trying to amend their mistake by making something that was included in the prix fixe, something we already paid for, into a “free bonus item”. Food is alright, it’s decent but not enough to glaze over, but the price is extremely expensive for Baltimore standard and is more on par with NYC. The service is so laughably bad, and that alone is enough to made me never wish to go again.

Ammoora is one thee most elegant restaurants in the city. The food was great, the ambience was top tier and the service was wonderful. My date was very happy that I had taken them there.

Syrian food is essentially peasant food. Delicious but simple. For a dinner for two with one drink each, $300 is just too much. That said, the food and service are high quality.

Had a wonderful time here with my friend over Valentine's Day weekend! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has such a great ambiance. Everything we got was delicious, we were huge fans of the mocktails. Such a great spot for a nice date or celebratory dinner, definitely coming back when I get the chance.

I had the pleasure of enjoying a special Valentine's Day dinner at Ammoora , and I must say, the experience was memorable from start to finish. For the main course, I tried their Valentine's Day special: the succulent lamb shank. Cooked to perfection, the lamb was tender, juicy, and infused with rich, aromatic flavors. My spouse enjoyed the Mediterranean tenderloin which cooked to perfection. The portion was generous, and every bite felt like an indulgence.

We went for Valentine’s Day. Prefix Silk Road menu. Apps: hummus, baba Ganesh, olives, and other dips and spreads 10/10 delicious. Mezze: Octopus 10/10, beef tartare to dense if that makes sense. Large portion. 5/10 Main course: lamb shank 9/10 very good. Bronzino and broccolini 10/10 loved it. Dessert: baklava, and lemon curd tart cannot remember the name 10/10 Food was excellent our server was good but maybe had too many tables and I will chalk this up to it being Valentine’s Day. It took us 3 hours to get served all of our dishes. We just felt like we were constantly waiting in between servings. We understand this is fine dinning and part of the experience but this was way too long. Also if it’s fine dinning there needs to be a more comprehensive wine list. We also wanted to shout out the hostess who was kind enough to take pictures of us, she was incredibly kind. I’m sure this place is great any other day of the week. But for a special night out we felt a little underwhelmed. Overall 3.7/5
