Owner Felicia Wilson and Chef Partner Darryl Harmon, who hails from Gouldstown, NJ in Cumberland County, which is considered the oldest black community in the U.S., is an award-winning chef for The Lure Group in New York City. He previously served as the Executive Chef at the Water Works Restaurant in Philadelphia between 2007 and 2012.

Overall experience was amazing. I’ve always wanted to go to this restaurant when I first saw it on my instagram page. Finally my husband and I made the time to attend today, our waitress, of which I do not remember her name, not because she was not an excellent waitress, but because I’m more good with faces lolll. She was the woman who wore glasses and had a ponytail, soft spoken voice, knew that menu well, was very observant, and timely! She was very good and friendly, oh and by the way, she mentioned she’s going to Morocco lollll not to put her business out there butttt… I’m just glad we finally made it! The ambience is awesome…we truly enjoyed ourselves! We will be back soon! I will definitely post our experience

We placed reservations for 5:15. Apparently, they do not open until 5:15. This left people standing in a cramped narrow corridor while the staff hung out in the front. Be prepared there is a 90 minute table limit. Their website does not mention it and it is not posted anywhere on the planet but apparently it is just a rule that people are supposed to know and assume. Also, not as important just a minor annoyance, there is no drink menu. There is a QR code on a card at the table. After we asked, we learned that is what you scan to get the drink menu. Is it too hard to print the words " drink menu" on that card so that people know what it is? They could even just state that on the food menu. Too many items left to assumptions.

The service was horrible, the drinks were horrible, the restaurant had a bathroom smell, and the food had no flavor. Definitely won’t be returning.

My experience began upon entering the establishment. There is an IPad that has the names of reservations made. Easily invasion of privacy as I was able to see all the names. We were seated, a party of 2. The waitress introduced herself and said she would return to get our drink orders. The lighting was very poor and no candle or light on the table, we had to use our phones to read the menu. The waitress returns and we order drinks. My fiancé orders a Pepsi, he ask for a different drink as the Pepsi was flat and sweet. We place our apps and entree orders. Apps deviled eggs and cheesesteak beignets arrived pretty fast and was hot. Lacking flavor and seasoning 2/10. Entrees took a little longer to arrive. We ordered fried chicken basket, smothered turkey wings, a la carte sides fried cabbage, lobster mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. All was not good. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes with a half of an overcooked lobster tail just thrown on top. Cabbage was greasy and unseasoned. Mac and cheese dry just like the deviled eggs were. We barely touched any of the food past the first few bites. The waitress stopped by once and did not even notice the lack of interest in the food. We ask to clear the plates as we were finished. It was my fiancé birthday, nothing was done. We ordered desserts, deconstructed watermelon cheesecake and fried apple cinnamon rolls. Not good. The service was poor and bevsuse gratuity is automatically included, there is no desire to provide good service. $300 later and we left hungry and disappointed. The reviews are misleading and I ended up apologizing to my fiancé for choosing this place to celebrate his birthday. 0/10 would not recommend.

Menu is different from open table menu, sides are not included with main dish , and tip is added on can’t choose a tip. They charge me $34 for a tip . Didn’t order a lot food came to $210
