The food was fantastic. The cocktails are top notch. The servers are all very friendly and attentive. The place was super crowded. We had a 6:30 reservation for 4 and at 6:30 exactly, we were called for our table. Talk about efficiency! The prices are very reasonable. We shall definitely return!

Wanted to try this James Beard award-nominated Mexican restaurant for lunch and we were not disappointed. Parking was a challenge but our reservation was honored and we were seated quickly at a lovely table. The ambiance was casual with meticulous attention paid to all the food offerings which were outstanding. The menu is comprehensive and authentic. I ordered the shrimp ceviche as my entree and a single carne asada street taco to try it out. Fresh and savory and delicious with lots of attention paid to layers of flavor/texture. We will return.

This is our new favorite place!! Food was so so good. Today was our second time and we came back bc the first time was so good. We didn’t realize how popular the place was our first time and did not make a reservation and sat at the bar on a Friday night. The place was buzzing. First time we had quesabirria taco and birria chimichanga. My husband said it was THE best chimichanga he had ever had. My tacos were super delicious, too. Our first time we kept watching plates come out to see what others were getting and today we tried birria mini chimis and the skillet queso. How is it possible to have chimis melt in your mouth?! And the queso deserved a chefs kiss, too. Next time we are trying the enchiladas! Oh the the two salsas served with chips are super yummy! Love love love.

Although the food was good, plates came out sporadically, and one plate came out room temperature. The noise level inside was very high. So much so that you had to shout to get our table mates to hear us.

Second time here in a week and we’ve determined that this is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Tucson. Great food and great people!!

I was so disappointed with my experience at Amelia’s. We had a reservation but got turned around and got there late. So when we arrived they just put our name at the bottom of the list. We had to wait at least 40 minutes. It took a while to order and I’d not felt well that day so we decided to order to go. It took another at least 40 minutes to get our food. We arrived at 7:00 and left at 8:50 for to go. The food was also disappointing- the salsas were supposed to be great and they were not:(

We went there because the chef was recommended for an award. The food was good, but service was pretty slow. People who can in after us were served first, which was odd. It was pretty loud in there too, so we had to yell to talk to each other. If friends want to go there, I’d go, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.
