Located in the heart of downtown State College, our newly restored space offers an honest, no-fuss menu featuring modern American cooking. The bar program features classics-inspired craft cocktails and a thoughtfully curated biodynamic wine list including plentiful wines by the glass.

Located on the second floor of Hotel State College, an iconic corner of hospitality in the community, the Grill has offered the community and alumni one of the grandest views of town and Penn State through floor-to-ceiling windows for more than 40 years. Thoughtfully restored and reimagined by new owners, Chef Karen Nicolas and the team set out to re-establish the Allen Street Grill as the epicenter of the downtown dining scene with a focus on local, quality ingredients and great hospitality.

Our New Years Eve Dinner was OUTSTANDING!! The multi-course menu, the quality of the food (all courses), the wine / drink pairings, the wait staff made this a memorable experience. We will be back next year and likely frequent the Allen Street Grill more often throughout the year.

We enjoyed the prix fixe, five course meal with the wine pairing. Chefs did a nice job with the menu and wines. Portions were sizable - Did not leave hungry!

Excellent meal - best food quality in State College in a beautiful setting. Cocktails and bartender were top notch. Only complaint was feeling rushed through the meal. Despite ordering cocktails, apps, entree and after dinner drinks, we were served everything in less than 50 minutes. If this was lunch I’d appreciate that but for a nice dinner, it’s never enjoyable to have the waiter hovering to grab your order and then stacking the food to come out 5 minutes apart. Overall, though, a wonderful restaurant and we will be back!

We came for a date night had a wonderful time. The atmosphere and food was incredible. Rachel was very sweet and surprisingly knowledgeable about the food. Allowed us to take our time and enjoy everything. Proved to be a wonderful date night spot, definitely booking a window seat next time we are able to come by.

What a gem to have in our community. Service, quality of food/beverage, knowledgeable staff, and fluency to round it out. Carrot soup!

We had a great experience for my 50th birthday dinner, Allison was wonderful! What we noticed was the kitchen was abnormally slow so everything took a longer than normal time. We weren't in a hurry so it wasn't a problem, but it was noticeably slow. I love the Allen St. Grill, esp this time of year! I often celebrate my birthday at ASG and will continue to do so, despite the slower service.
