    After a 15 minute wait at the bar we were taken to our table in the restaurant. We were the only people there …. the table was laid for afternoon tea but no tablecloth …..waiter took order and drinks came….we then waited nearly half an hour no sign of any food yet until we saw a manager walking past the restaurant. We said we were unhappy with service and would pay for drinks only and leave without having any food. The manager waived the drink bill and we left. Total apathy at the Doubletree Kensington. Next time we will stick to one’s we know or recommended ….Fortnums, Savoy, Shangri La where customer service is friendly welcoming and an outstanding experience. We have stayed in Doubletree by Hilton hotels previously with no problems also afternoon tea at their hotel in Harrogate

    The young lady who greeted us was exceptional. We had difficulty finding our booking voucher but she reassured us that our table was safe and no hurry. Service was excellent, plenty of choice of sandwiches, cakes and they even brought out a Cheesecake slice with Happy Birthday written on the plate which my partner loved. Highly recommended

    The reviews we read beforehand was true. It was absolutely awful. It was dirty, we asked for the bill 5/6 times over 20-25 mins and never got it so we had to get up ourselves to get it. The drinks tasted watered down, and although they said they were understaffed due to Covid, the staff seemed to take a laissez-faire attitude to everything, and the manager didn’t seem to be that fussed either. It wasn’t even that busy, which was what surprised me with the poor service and mess on several tables. Realised this is owned by the Hilton (what came up on my card) so was a little surprised by that. I would not recommend this place.

    Great Ambience, good food but service to be improved. Surprising that in a high-end price / ambience and quality wise place like this customers need to go to the bar to order and get back to the table. An app / website like the one utilised now by many and many restaurants in London would make ordering way easier and will definitely improve the overall experience.

    Went here for my birthday. They treated me like I’d just walked in despite booking it. Cocktails are crap!

    It is the worst ever dining experience in such location. Frankly shocking they are still standing. We were forgotten for an hour, after numerous chasing we got our water and tea. Food arrived just before we were about to leave. Food was so disgusting, over deep fried, showing zero cooking skill. Service was so appalling, the service people were unhappy. Honestly most of the places we go have happy people after such a long lock-down. This place is just a waste of anyone’s energy, money and time.

    Very excited to be out for the first time after lockdown. Decided to celebrate with a late Saturday brunch. However, a wait of 50 minutes for the food to arrive. Eventually spotted it being walked round the garden twice, without realising it was ours (even though it had been ordered at the bar with a table no included.) And then a second time, realising it was perhaps ours, but not being able to win the waitress’s attention. When it finally came, after having raised it twice with what appeared to be the head waiter (out of two serving the entire garden) we had to send the gyoza back to be re-heated as unsurprisingly, they were luke-warm. The drinks finally came. I hour after ordering. I asked for the service charge (£4.50) to be removed as there was no service to speak of. The head waiter apologised for the chaos (they had only been open 3 days, but still....?) and offered us 2 drinks on the house. Other diners looked like they were equally having to chase their orders.... If you decide to eat or drink here, whatever you do, don’t go hungry or thirsty. You may have a long wait. And end up feeling aggrieved at spending your hard earned cash for a wholly underwhelming experience.
