Wonderful. We’ve recently been to Italy and would rate the food of equal quality as our best meals in Italy. The menu was extensive and the food was just devine, friendly atmosphere and service, we’ll be back.

We had dinner for the first time this evening at a new restaurant in Sandgate. Two young, passionate, and talented guys have just opened this new place: ACCIUGA. We enjoyed two glasses of white wine from the Langhe-Piedmont region along with a first appetiser : octopus, broad beans, chilli and tomato jam, lardo, and a second one: baby squid, fennel and grapefruit, followed by Spaghettoni vongole, chili, salmon roe and Calamarata (baby octopus, fennel purée, green peas sauce) which we had served with a complimentary tasting of homemade bread and butter (OMG!). As a dessert we shared a tiramisu and had a taste of Sbrisolona cake with homemade grappa custard cream which was offered to us by the two chefs and owners(grazie!) while we were chatting at the end of our dinner. I am Italian, I deeply love to cook and appreciate good food, and I’m quite particular and picky when it comes to Italian cuisine. What can I say? Everything was just PERFECT: flavours, cooking, pairings, balancing, presentation… Everything we had was absolutely delicious, the place is beautiful with a cozy atmosphere, the staff was friendly and welcoming and we really liked the table setting. Congratulations to these talented guys—well done, well done, and again, well done, we’ll definitely be back soon! To everyone reading, I highly recommend ACCIUGA, 19 Brighton Rd, Sandgate. If you enjoy great food, this is the place for you, go there, sit down, and enjoy a wonderful journey of flavors.

The atmosphere, attentive and friendly service was very pleasant and welcoming and that was before we sat down. Not pushy, even though they were nearly full. The quality of the food was exceptional and the servings were generous. Pricing was more than reasonable. Happy to recommend to anyone looking for a casual night out. We will be back, very soon.

Authentic, fresh Italian dishes, beautiful wines, efficient and friendly staff. Will definitely be going back many times!

First of all the staff were amazing. Wonderfully Italian!!! I felt like I was back in Italy. The food was amazing. Would definitely come back again.

We had a fantastic experience here! The staff were warm and welcoming, the chef came and introduced herself. To start we had delicious fresh focaccia, as well as a complimentary starter of the most beautiful charred octopus. We each had different pasta dishes that were all delightful, but the highlights were the house made tortelloni and papardelle! Will absolutely add this spot to our regular rotation.
