Como el nombre del nuevo restaurante del South Place Hotelpodría sugerir, el South Place Chop House se inspiró en los tradicionales restaurantes de cortes de Londres, presentando una combinación de excelente comida con el mejor servicio y un gran ambiente. El lugar ha recibido un cambio de imagen, con torres de tradicionales cazos de cobre, obras de arte por Thorbjørn Andersen y una selección de mesas para cenas íntimas, así como también grandes mesas comunitarias. La cocina - dirigida por el jefe de cocina Oliver Marlowe - es hábil y audaz. We had to wait a long time for the server to approach us to take our orders, despite the restaurant being fairly quiet. The coffees came cold. One guests meal only came after everyone had finished their meals despite being told it was on the way, it was only yoghurt so not sure why it took so long. When it did arrive, her order of coconut yoghurt was actually Greek yoghurt which she discovered after having a spoonful. Luckily this was just an intolerance and not an allergy. Not impressed for this being a business breakfast.

Fawlty-towers-esque is the only way to describe our experience!! We were there for a business dinner, there were 8 of us. We arrived shortly after 6pm, sat down, and ordered some wine and food from the set menu (they mandated that everybody order from the set menu, or nobody could order from the set menu). After a short while, the person tending to our table began to approach the guests, one by one, in the most unusual fashion. His tactic was to lean in between the guests putting his forearm on the table. This was mildly comical. Each time he was informing the guest that their first choice for starter/main was not available. In some cases he told the guests what he would be replacing the dish with, and in some cases he asked for their opinion. This happened repeatedly over the course of 30-45 minutes. Almost an hour and a half later, still no food. We complained and waited a little longer, until it became obvious that no food would be arriving. We spoke to the manager one final time and he informed us that they the situation was due to an unfortunate event. Somewhat sympathetically I asked what the unfortunate event was, maybe the chef had been taken ill, or had a family emergency. Nope, the reason the manager gave was that they had a busy lunch service!!! At that point the manager offered us the opportunity to leave the restaurant, and gave us the wine we had drank for free (hence the high score for value). So off we went to Haz on Bishopsgate where they accommodated us, fed us, and we had a great time.

Whilst the service was good and the staff were professional and friendly, the food was disappointing, as there was an extremely limited menu for someone with a gluten allergy...

Steak pretty chewy, a weird sauce that disintegrated my pavlova, and some hard peaches... Lucky the service and wine made up for it ... Shame

This is my 3rd visit to 3SP and we had another great evening. The staff are friendly and professional. They are attentive but also know when to leave you alone. A couple of them remembered me, which was lovely Food was fabulous and so affordable, I always recommend this great find in the heart of the City. Please keep up the good work. I'll definitely be going back.

Food and service average. The most irritating thing though was the way the waiter kept offering items that were extra to the set lunch menu. Won't be going back.

Good food; excellent service. Question how much of value for money it was, though. Didn't appreciate their automatically adding a 15% tip.

We received a lovely warm welcome and the staff continued to look after us throughout the evening. They made sure we had everything we needed but didn’t hound us., We were celebrating a birthday and the staff made such an effort with a glass of fizz on arrival and singing happy birthday when delivering dessert. The food was delicious. Will definitely be going back and recommending it to friends Thank you

The brunch was amazing. Starter Duck 10/10 Main pan fried Trout 10/10.The best bread and butter pudding by miles.10/10. Every thing was perfect.
