We were really looking forward to our brunch. We were greeted by a woman who turned out to be our server who was monumentally ungracious and unfriendly. When we asked about a word on the menu, she said, and I quote, “ I didn’t write it”. She didn’t check on us or refill water glasses when they were empty. The food was OK but not terrific today. There was a lot of food left on people’s plates and she never asked if anything wrong. I would never want to be waited on again by her at any restaurant.

Excellent place to reconnect with a friend. Server was attentive without seeming pushy. Atmosphere was pleasant and New England comfortable , and the cocktails/food were delicious!

I've enjoyed this restaurant in the past and their somewhat season menus. This time the food was ok but nothing special. What really diminishes this restaurant is the very tired and unfriendly dining room and lackluster attention to service. I get that the dining room is supposed to look "eclectic" but the mismatched tables, chairs, and worn paint job go beyond funky. Half the tables weren't set and made the room look bare. We had to ask to have our candle lit. The large fake floral arrangement in one corner so needs to go. The large open kitchen at one end and its yelling cooks only increased the noise. I was just looking for good food in a cozy atmosphere - this was ok food in a second rate cafeteria room.

Service was great, the feel was warm and cozy. We enjoyed everything about our meal, from apps to entrees and dessert.

A real neighborhood surprise. Very quiet. Wonderful but simple ambiance. Excellent service. Reasonable prices. Above all the food was great.

The food and service was great! I had the shrimp scampi and hubby had the hamburger. Parking was a challenge but worth the effort.

The Shrimp Scampi was one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. It was so fresh and flavorful. I’ve never eaten something so fast. Compliments to the chef. - my boyfriend

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at 224 Boston st. Tavern. The services was friendly and the food was amazing! If you’re looking for a great meal full of flavor. We will defiantly be back! 5 stars!!!!!

Food was great as was service it was a bit loud though. My mom has a hearing issue and the clanking pots and plates from the kitchen plus conversation level was too much for her. The front room with high tops was quieter. Noise level aside I would highly recommend.
