Named for the year that Dr. John Anderson purchased the land upon which the resort now stands, 1796 Room has now been re-launched as a signature steak and chophouse, serving steaks, chops, fish and poultry of the highest quality.

1796 uses only the highest quality 21-day aged USDA prime beef. Our meats are prepared at 1700° on our infrared broiler ensuring juiciness, tenderness and flavor.

I have eaten here 3 times. They always provide the best steak. Get their blue cheese crust and homemade steak sauce. The agua fresca is refreshing. Asparagus is oven grilled. Parmesan truffle fries are delicious. Skip dessert. You will be too full anyway.

Service was good. Couldn’t cook steak to temp. Asked for med rare and first $80 filet was well done. Second fire came out as rare. Sides and deserts were mediocre. Poor showing for a highly rated restaurant. We will not be back.

Wonderful! This was our second time dining at 1796 and it was just as great as the first time. The food was out of this world! The service was amazing, very attentive staff.

Headed to Bedford Springs Resort for a 2 night gettaway. First night, had dinner at 1796. Our server, Michele excellent. We shared a chopped salad, French onion soup, then a 12 oz filet with mashed potatoes. House made sauce for the filet. Too full for dessert. Had an excellent Manhattan and we each had a house cab which was quite tasty. Restaurant a bit pricey, but very nice for a romantic dinner.

1796 is an amazing place. We try to get there every year to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Our server [James?] was amazing and we very helpful and very educated on everything about 1796 and offered many culinary suggestions! Thanks for another great memory! See you next year! B&T
