Our 1st time eating there based on friends' recommendations for our anniversary dinner. They weren't wrong. Atmosphere was pleasant & elegant. Service was great overall, and Roger, our main server, was outstanding. He explained many options & choices for drinks & food. Every course was delicious from the wedge salad, which was big enough to share, filet steak and scallop dish, plus shared crispy brussels sprouts. The deep dish peanut butter pie was yummy-good. We enjoyed a leisurely meal - not rushed or hovered-over. Kudos again to Roger and all staff that serviced our table and hostess staff that started us off.

Server was knowledgeable about every offering from cocktails to wine to all menu items and was correct on all counts. Outstanding lobster bisque, salads, and sides. The steaks were prepared perfectly and delicious. It’s really great to have a steakhouse of this caliber in Denver NC!

Disappointing Steak, But Open to a Second Chance We visited 16 Prime on Valentine’s Day. The restaurant was steady but not overly busy, so we expected a smooth dining experience. My wife ordered the sea bass, I ordered a medium-rare steak, and we shared a few sides. Everything started well—until the steak arrived. It was, at best, medium, with the ends creeping into medium-well territory. The waiter promptly took it back, and the manager assured me they’d prepare a new one. As expected, you can’t reverse an overcooked steak. Unfortunately, the second attempt swung too far the other way—rare to the point of being cold in the center (practically blue). By then, the sides had gone cold, my wife had already finished her meal, and the experience was beyond saving. The manager was apologetic and offered to cook it more, but at that point, I declined and took it home to fix myself. They did remove the $55 charge and offered a complimentary dessert, which was appreciated. We’ll give 16 Prime another try in the future and expect a different experience.

Overall a great experience. Just a few little tweaks on the food is why I rated it with 4 stars. The blue cheese dressing on the BLT wedge was strange and watery tasting and not much flavor unless you got a chunk of blue cheese. We ordered a ribeye steak with horseradish and Parmesan crust and while the steak was melt in your mouth perfection, we couldn’t taste the horseradish at all. The scallops were scrumptious as were the fingerling potatoes. Portions were large (we brought half of each dish home). Service was impressive!
