Moments from Manchester’s theatres and shops in the very centre of the North’s favourite city, the 101 Brasserie and Bar combines upmarket restaurant style dining with an informal but sophisticated bar. Facing out towards Portland Street, the long, curving bar of the 101 is a spot where people watching, after work cocktails or catch-ups with friends are enjoyed in cosy booths or on comfortable sofas. While the Lounge menu offers lovely light bites and delicious cakes and pastries to be enjoyed alongside your beer, wine, tea or coffee, more substantial meals are enjoyed in the chic restaurant seating. Overseen by head chef Tim Lewis, the 101 Brasserie menu is based around the best of the North West, much of the produce sourced personally by Tim himself. The kitchen’s ethos is entirely concerned with simple, uncomplicated dishes in which the individual flavours of top quality ingredients are encouraged to shine through.

We've created a menu which can be enjoyed anywhere in the hotel with some of our favourite dishes and some we're sure are favourites of yours too! If there's anything which isn't on the menu which you'd like us to create, just ask your server, we'd be happy to help! For any room service orders, a £4 tray charge will be applied. Any 3 courses with a glass of wine for £24.95 (supplement charge of £5.95 for Steaks, Craft Burger & Cheese Slate)

The service was good. The menu was limited. We went for the tapas the white bait came without tartare sauce. The butter on the garlic bread was burnt. The fries and garlic bread arrived 10 min after the main. The meatballs were cold and the garlic prawns had seen no garlic.

My sister and I bought a Sparkling Afternoon Tea deal and it rally sparkled! The staff were all very friendly and attentive and the food was great. The venue was pleasant and had a lovely atmosphere. The prosecco tasted good quality, too, considering we were on a special deal! We really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you very much.

Fab afternoon tea, lovely sandwiches and cakes. Service was brilliant from reception to bar to manager. A few minor niggles that reduced some scores, lift out of order meaning had to carry pram up flight of stairs to entrance. No baby change facilities, reception didn't realise/believe this and kept sending us to disabled toilets saying there was a table in there. Once we convinced them there wasn't (they checked themselves too!) they spoke to shift manager who opened an empty room for us to use. Couldn't fault the helpfulness and willingness of manager to find a solution to our rather smelly conundrum! Overall would readily go back for any occasion. Oh and as a side note, although I've not stated here the room we used quickly looked amazing!

I took my mum here for afternoon tea we had a deal with living social. The food was lovely and the service was really good, the waitress who served us was lovely very helpful. There was 2 cakes that we didn't eat as we don't like chocolate cake so she went away to change them for other cakes which was really nice to do that. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants lovely afternoon tea with friendly helpful staff in a nice environment.

The food was very good as was the venue. The only down side was that when we wanted anything we gad to go to the bar and ask. Nobody came to the table to ask if everything was OK.

Very nice prosecution afternoon tea. Well worth it with wowcher voucher. Service very good. Nice and peaceful place you can actually talk to each other without shouting

I have been introduced to 101 originally, via a Livingsocial Deal for afternoon tea with my sister. I have now visited with a friend since and probably in total 3 or 4 times - you can rely on this place for great ambience, music, food and friendly service every single time - thank you for making us feel welcome.

Met a friend for Afternoon Tea. Very comfortable. The food was fresh and delicious and staff were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon.
