Welcome to The Seaview Bar & Restaurant, a family friendly restaurant and bar which caters for all ages and occassions. Our stunning restaurant overlooks Pegwell Bay and includes alfresco dining on our sundeck terrace. We offer all day dining from an extensive menu of meat choices, fish dishes, sharing platters and delicious homemade desserts. All food is home cooked and has substantial portion sizes. We cater for all dietary requirement.Our stunning Sunday roast is served from 12pm till 4pm.Our menu is available in the bar and restaurant, the restaurant offering table service and the bar offers a non-reservable first come, first serve where you can enjoy a drink or dine with your dogs. Our magical conservatory restaurant is set amid Updown’s rambling grounds. Dine under the grape vines surrounded by beautiful 17th century brick and watch the chefs in the open kitchen tending to the wood fired grill and original farm house bread oven. The restaurant has been completely transformed by owners Ruth and Oli to be heated and fully enclosed and is open year round.Menus will be small, hyper seasonal and use the best of local and European produce and change on regular basis to reflect what’s best. Everything is cooked over wood in the open kitchen. There is a short list of exciting wines of limited availability, local beers and seasonal cocktails.On Wednesday nights in place of our à la carte we cook a Steak Night menu , priced at £30 per person for 3 courses. On Sunday nights the restaurant is closed but we serve a light supper for hotel guests in the Farmhouse.

The Michelin Starred, Fordwich Arms, located in the smallest town in England, dates as far back as 1828. Draped in ivory and wisteria in the most picturesque location over looking the Great River Stour, the perfect setting for an idyllic summers lunch. Boasting open fireplaces for the colder winter months, creating a cosy and welcoming ambiance. Daniel and Natasha Smith took over The Fordwich Arms in 2017 and were awarded a Michelin Star within the first year, as well as being in the top 100 gastro pubs in the UK, multiple culinary awards, notable wine awards and various other accredits, a testament to their hair work and talent. The seasonal menus focus on provenance, showcasing the best of local Kentish ingredients, sourced directly from local farms and producers. Modern restaurant with a good buzz and helpful attentive staff. The food is plentiful and well presented. The wings were crispy in a delicious sauce, we had the combo. Crackling was crispy and puffy with spicy seasoning, the smoked meats ribs and sausage were flavoursome and still juicy, the ribs and pork belly were perfectly rendered. Plenty for 2-3 people. The lettuce skewer with kimchi and sarasser was unusual but a great accompaniment.

The food was amazing. Every bite was such a perfect mouthful. The service was perfect. They left you alone but attentive at the same time. It’s a hidden Gem. I didn’t know it existed until we saw it on Facebook. Will be going back in a few weeks.
