Nestling in the heart of the beautiful Kentish Weald-the Garden of England, the Star and Eagle Hotel is located in the village of Goudhurst. Standing over 400ft above sea level, there are outstanding views of the surrounding orchards and hop gardens for which the area is renowned. Dating back to the 14th century, the Star and Eagle has played a significant role in the local history, and was once reputed to have been an ancient monastery. Relics of the vaulted stonework of the period are still visible in some parts of the building. During the 18th century the Inn became the headquarters of the "Hawkhurst Gang", who robbed and terrorised the surrounding district, and planned smuggling raids. Today, behind its attractive timbered gables, the Star and Eagle offers all the comfort and facilities of a 20th century hotel with the charm and atmosphere of a bygone era. Open throughout the year, the Star and Eagle is less than three miles off the main A21 road with easy access.

We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Blacklock is a modern version of the Great British chophouse. Set in an old electricity substation on the site of London"s oldest meat market. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our real charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails that give back and wine on tap in our atmospheric subterranean chop mecca.     We were very excited to dine here due to the aesthetic looks. We were taken to the lounge area and we saw the seats had shoe marks all over them so we came back to the front. We then thought it wont be a good time here however Chris who served us changed it all around with an outstanding service in where i clicked with him straight away and he made my fiancee feel so welcome as well as that the food was absolutely amazing. With that being said i would definitely come back for the type of service chris had given.

    10/10 incredible food was too good everything was so tasty love this place can’t wait to go back. Even the drinks were brilliant, the views, vibe and service all were brilliant. Must visit

    Absolutely could not have been more perfect. The service was impeccable and we were made to feel most welcome. Food was wonderful - really good quality and quantity. We were hugely surprised by an unexpected Happy Birthday plate of strawberries, cream and a cupcake for one of our party whose birthday it was on that day. Really made his day and ours...as we had not told the not the birthday when booking. Staff could not have done more to make the meal very special.

    We had a great meal at Sentido, it was recommended to us by a friend so we thought we would give it a go as we are local. Was really nice, very welcoming and great food. We ate in the restaurant, but we will be going back for sure to try some tapas in the bar area.
