Antica Bologna ha sido un favorito en Northcote Road por más de veinte años -bastante tiempo para el negocio de restaurantes en Londres- y es todavía original y emocionante como el día en que abrió sus puertas, pues evoca imágenes de osterías perdidas en pequeños pueblos de la campiña silvestre en la región de la Emilia-Romaña o las ondulantes colinas de la Toscana, con su animada bienvenida propia de un antiguo favorito familiar. El chef Marzio Zacchi creció en la zona rural de Piamonte en el seno de una familia que criaba gallinas, cosechaba sus verduras y curaba su propio salami, por lo cual defiende con firmeza el uso de productos frescos locales. Sin embargo, a pesar de su crianza al estilo rural, Zacchi ha llevado la comida en Osteria Antica Bologna al tipo de sofisticación que solo puede alcanzarse tras pasar varios años de entrenamiento en restaurantes londinenses.

Using Daniele’s Italian Nonna and her traditional recipes as inspiration we embarked on a mission to bring the best fresh pasta dishes in London town! Our pasta is freshly made daily with zero zero flour from Italy and it is combined with egg, water, and salt. Our sauces are made in-house with Nonna’s love using the freshest ingredients sourced from Italy and our UK homeland. Nonna’s dishes are finished with a sprinkle of Pecorino or Parmigiano Reggiano cheese depending on preference and tradition and of course, the pasta will be always cooked al dente, Nonna’s way!"

We had a very good dinner and perfect service - kind attentive but not fussy. We were two old friends who had not seen each other for a long time. It was the perfect place for a catch up and we were given a quiet table at the back.

We had a fun Friday night evening at Wine and Love. We had a delicious bottle of Montepulciano and the tiramisu was out of this world.
