The Michelin Starred, Fordwich Arms, located in the smallest town in England, dates as far back as 1828. Draped in ivory and wisteria in the most picturesque location over looking the Great River Stour, the perfect setting for an idyllic summers lunch. Boasting open fireplaces for the colder winter months, creating a cosy and welcoming ambiance. Daniel and Natasha Smith took over The Fordwich Arms in 2017 and were awarded a Michelin Star within the first year, as well as being in the top 100 gastro pubs in the UK, multiple culinary awards, notable wine awards and various other accredits, a testament to their hair work and talent. The seasonal menus focus on provenance, showcasing the best of local Kentish ingredients, sourced directly from local farms and producers.     First time tasing the new menu and it was honestly amazing! We had the taster menu and every course was spot on. We love this place due to not only the food, but the ambience and the service is friendly.

    The set menu was lovely. Would be nice if it were also inclusive of vegetables as that really adds to the cost. Took two people who had never been before and they were impressed.

    The host who seated us was very informative with suggestion about the portion sizes and menu options. Our waitress was great my drink was always topped up and checked with us and the beginning and end of our main meal and dessert. We had the fondue for 2 which, whilst very overpriced, was amazing with the fire to roast the marshmallow and the chocolate dip for the fruit was out of this world. The honey butter boneless chicken and chips both cooked with MSG were the best I’d ever tasted. Outstanding place

    Great welcome, first class service, excellent food with bumper portion sizes. Brisket was truly melt in mouth and really well seasoned. Our 8 year old grandson loved it and said the presentation of the starters reminded him of Masterchef! Well worth the 80 mile round trip. Highly recommended and we will be back.
