Masuya Restaurant is located in a building, which has been designated as a cultural asset, on O’Connell Street in Sydney. This is the same place as the office of Kanematsu Gosho, the pioneer of Australia – Japan trades, was situated in 1980. Masuya Restaurant opened in 1993, then full renovation was implemented in 2006.The approx. five meters long sushi counter, designed by architect Robert Toland in ‘kabuki red’ with an idea of the stage of kabuki, has since fascinated not only local Australian customers but also various people with different backgrounds.A showcase displays more than 20 different sushi ingredients everyday including locally produced fish, which is purchased on the day. Other carefully selected ingredients are wagyu beef, free-range pork, and seasonal vegetables.     The staff was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable making us feel comfortable. The food was fantastic tasty and the desert omg was the perfect end to the night. Explosion of different flavours.

    Valentines Day set menu had outstanding choices if it was a bit pricey. The service was attentive and we were served quickly. Nice atmosphere. All 6 of us enjoyed our meals!

    We had a fantastic double birthday family dinner. We were looked after amazingly by all the team and enjoyed the most delicious food. Our fish was perfectly cooked and all the dishes were faultless. We all agreed it was one of our best nights out. It was also great to not have to chase staff for a wine glass top up or new bottle as this was all carried out so well, which is sadly rare these days. Many thanks to all the team.

    Lovely meal beside the water, food just as I like it - great produce done simply and well. V good serveuse, who looked after us v well. Great experience. Not too noisy.
