Malin is a small neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of Rathdowne Village, Carlton North. Set in an 1880s property on the corner of Curtain and Rathdowne streets, the site has been renovated to honour the heritage of the building. The food menu, developed by Chef Clement Pilatre, samples European cuisine and showcases seasonal produce and frequently changing dishes. The drinks list favours emerging wine producers, while also giving a nod to the classics. Malin aims to deliver engaging service 5 days a week; with dinner served Wednesday to Saturday and lunch on Saturday and Sunday.     No wonder this place was absolutely chockers inside and out on a warm Fitzroy evening! Very welcoming vibe and great service, excellent wines to choose from and the meal was delicious. Always reliably enjoyable!

    Outstanding in every way from the moment you enter. There was clearly a lot of thought behind the restaurant. The room is lovely, tables set with linen. The room feels serene and luxurious. The food is superb, modern French with an Australian accent. Every dish was outstanding. Service is relaxed and friendly. I highly recommend a dinner at Malin. I look forward to a return visit.

    Took my partner here for her birthday and the food was an absolute ripper! We had a Fiano wine that went perfectly well with our food. The owner was very warm and welcoming . Highly recommend

    We have been to Spensley's close to 10 times now over the past year! It is our favourite place to come for a relaxing and tasty meal. We bring all our visitors here (we are originally from the UK) to showcase one of the best restaurants we have found during our time in Melbourne. The food is spectacular for the value (feed me menu is always worth it!). We will be becoming back!
