As soon as Amy Chanta flung open the doors in 1989 Chat Thai became an instant smash hit with Sydney diners already familiar with Thailand and no appetite for compromising on ingredients, flavours, textures and aromas. Searching all across Sydney for the correct vegetables, herbs and sauces Amy was able to set herself apart through a stubborn dedication to reminding diners of their unforgettable food experiences on the streets of Bangkok.Three decades later we are proud to continue Amy’s vision by adding organic vegetables from Boon Luck Farm to serve up authentic Thai dishes we ourselves want to eat. Unique flavours the Thai diaspora crave from the motherland but struggle to find outside of their own home cooking.

We've since added restaurants in Circular Quay, Westfield Sydney, Neutral Bay, Chatswood and Galeries Victoria, and in 2015 we added organic, fresh produce from our farm in Byron Bay. This was my second time there, and I loved it just as much as the first time! I'd recommend looking at their specials as both times there were fantastic options, but their regular menu items are delicious too! I don't know if I've ever had so many GF choices at a Japanese restaurant before, so I'm grateful that O'uchi makes the effort to accomodate.

The food was delicious but the serving size of some of the dishes could have been bigger. We ordered the crispy pork but there wasn't many pieces of pork. The ambience of the place is really nice and good for groups.
