Next Door is the sister restaurant of Margaret, which, quite literally, sits next door to it at the corner of Bay St and Guilfoyle Avenue. Featuring a rolling 12-hour lunch-to-dinner menu, the bar brings you a selection of specially curated small plates such as Woodfire Grilled Peppers, Cherry Tomatoes with Oregano, Braised Zucchini with Mint, Chilli and Pecorino, as well as an amazing selection of Consorcio, Cuca, Pollastrini, Ortiz and Real Conversas tins with some freshly baked sourdough from Baker Bleu. Waitress, bartender, and manager were all very accommodating to my family’s needs with a toddler. All kind and patient. Wagu burger was amazing. Keep thinking about going back for another!

The beef burger was excellent, the chicken nuggets not so good and the Whiskey Sour okay. It gets busy when there are shows on at the Hordern, booking online is recommended. The bathroom gives dive bar vibes and it is somewhat the aesthetic of Mary’s but it definitely needed a good clean.
