Open since 2002 Palmettos on the Bayou is a charming and elegant Acadian style restaurant serving classic Creole dishes highlighting fresh Louisiana ingredients.

Set on the tranquil Bayou Bonfouca near Old Town Slidell, our waterfront restaurant/event venue is known for its southern charm. Palmettos famous Brunch features live Jazz Saturday and Sunday. The 5,000sqf covered deck provides a dramatic outdoor setting at night for romantic dinners and a comfortable relaxed atmosphere during the day.

We are honored to have been named Best Brunch, Dining with a View, and Most Romantic by various local publications throughout the years.

We're located at 1901 Bayou Lane, next to Heritage Park.

My first visit here was absolutely fantastic, so I had high hopes for round two. Unfortunately, this time the food didn’t quite hit the mark—it was a bit disappointing. The highlight, however, was definitely the dessert; it was simply delicious! Towards the end of the meal our waitress seemed a bit distracted, and I had to send another waiter to track her down for the bill. Overall, it was a mixed experience this time around!

Went for their New Year's Day brunch buffet. Everything we tried was very good. Sweet and savory - bread pudding, creme brulee french toast, ham-n-cheese eggs, bacon, shrimp pasta, corned beef & cabbage, shrimp & grits, prime rib, smoked pork loin, country style ribs, boiled shrimp, salad items, desserts, waffles and much more...$45 per person plus 18% gratuity at all tables. A glass of champagne or mimosa was included. Water glasses were kept full by our friendly and attentive server. Also given free small beignets to take home. It may be a little pricey for some budgets, but I highly recommend Palmetto's! Go hungry and you'll still struggle to taste all their tasty offerings. We sat where a Jazz musician played "outside" and it was very comfortable with the beauty of the bayou outside. A+ experience overall.

We just moved to LA over the holidays so our normal family traditions are changing. I chose Palmetto's after seeing them on Facebook and I am SO glad I did. The buffet had everything you can imagine and every item tasted fresh and was very good. That is hard to accomplish in a buffet. The music was nice and not too loud for conversation. We will be back and this may just be our new, New Year's Day tradition.

There was a great selection of food, which was absolutely delicious! The crème brûlée french toast was yummy! Our server was Derrick, and he was awesome! He was extremely attentive and pleasant! We will definitely go back!

I brought my wife here for her birthday on a Saturday night, everything was perfect. It wasn't packed like we expected, there was alot of room. The food was delicious, service was outstanding and the low lighting made the environment very comfortable. My wife was pleased and we have no complaints! Great job Palmettos!!!

Christmas Eve Brunch is over-priced. We were expecting a Jazz-type brunch, and the food was marginal. Meat station selections were cold. Bread pudding was good, and the complimentary beignets at the end of the meal is a very nice touch.
