The Nicollet Island Inn has stood witness to over a century of change on the shores of the Mississippi River. The Inn is consistently named the most romantic restaurant in the area and its river views have been voted some of the best in the city. An immediately recognizable Minneapolis landmark, the Inn offers world-class cuisine created by Executive Chef Michael Rain , whose innovative and constantly updated menu includes a variety of seafood, steaks and gourmet specialty dishes. Our wine menu has been chosen specifically to compliment the food and highlight producers from the world's leading wine regions.

Nic's bar, just off the main dining room, is a casual, old-world tavern and the patio offers stunning views of the Minneapolis skyline. The Inn is a convenient, comfortable destination for breakfast or lunch meetings while the 3 or 5-course Sunday Brunch is the perfect weekend indulgence.

    My friend and I were able to enjoy a delicious lunch in a beautiful, quiet setting perfect for catching up. Our server was wonderful! We were welcomed, encouraged to take our time and received the very best service. The lobster rolls were yummy and the tea beautiful in its unique container and warming on a cold day. For anyone weary of extremely noisy restaurant, Nicollet Island Inn will become your favorite with its charm and beauty.

    Our first visit, and it was all delicious. Our waitress along with the rest of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Everything we ate was delicious. Wish there was another option or two for dessert.

    Food was delicious!! Beautiful place to dine. Our server was just so-so. He brought me the wrong drink and it took quite a while for our dessert to arrive even though there were hardly any diners left in the room. Also, that's a steep price to pay for bread. $1 a slice and one piece had a quar-sized hole in it.

    Another perfect experience at a special place. I have gone here for many occasions and events. In the new pack people in, loud spaces, restaurant experience, it is always wonderful to enjoy exemplary service served up with delicious food in a beautiful setting.

    Nicollet Island Inn is my go-to for having a lovely experience with friends and family. The ambience is lovely. The food is really very good. And the wait staff are always personable and far above the service level at most restaurants. I always feel I, and my guests, have been so well taken care of. On top of that there is parking right outside the door. A special place for an especially wonderful time.

    After getting married in Bermuda we had our reception at the Nicollet Island Inn 24 years ago. We go back every year on our anniversary. We love it there and really glad they survived the pandemic. The service is impeccable. The food is delicious although we had the starter lobster cakes and we wouldn't have them again. Hardly any lobster taste. It was the first time in my life (hard to believe, I know) to order salmon. I thought I didn't like it but it was really tasty. The olive tapenade was a very nice touch. We'll be back!

    Sea Bass and Lamb Chops were outstanding. Rebecca always makes the experience delightful with her positive attitude and welcoming approach. Great time to dine here is Sunday evenings when the diners are less.
