A rural public house serving local beers, Berkshire gin and ciders, as well as a great wine selection. Bar snacks and full meals available 7 days a week. Cooking over a central grill makes for great theatrical cooking from our open-plan kitchen, overseen by Head Chef Nick Galer. Whilst a subtle Basque feel will permeate throughout, its roots are firmly founded on those of a classic English pub – so while featuring top end Basque dishes fit for a destination dinner, it also offers simple pub snacks for a light lunch… while the food may be inspired by the Basque country, the ingredients are local… and while the wines may be sourced from Iberia, the beer is very much English.The crowning glory is the sensational open kitchen, with a huge, CHARCOAL FIRED parilla grill and a BRICK OVEN as its centrepiece and all in front of the guests – very visual and very theatrical.     The staff were excellent and very attentive. The food was served in a timely manner and it tasted excellent. All 4 of us enjoyed our experience at The Butt Inn. Thank you very much.

    Very speedy experience initially. Lovely waitresses but some staff understandably not happy to be working today. Good portions. Mostly hot. Place was very busy so well done to all the waiting staff and kitchen staff. We had enjoyed ourselves and couldn’t manage coffee or mince pies. Left a 10% tip as it can’t be great working at Christmas .

    We had a fantastic Sunday lunch recently at the Old Boot Inn with a group consisting of 4 adults and 4 children. The playground outside is a massive bonus point. Apart from a minor hiccup with 1 of the kids meals all of the rest was delicious. A lovely, cosy country pub.
