Merrick Inn, construido antes de la Guerra Civil, fue remodelado totalmente por la familia Cal Milam en 1936, y sirvió como casa de campo para uno de los mejores ranchos de caballos de Lexington. Merrick Place es donde Milam y su novio, el Sr. Johnson, entrenaron al legendario Exterminator, ganador del derby de Kentucky en 1918. Our party of 3 enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, and our server, Nathan, was top-notch! He took excellent care of us without hovering, and we never lacked for anything. We all enjoyed our drinks and entrees, and our evening was very pleasant all around.

So disappointing. We hadn't been there in a while and it is not the same. It is no longer an upscale restaurant, although the prices remain upscale. My husband ordered the ham and turkey hot brown and it was prepared using lunchmeat like a diner would use. Despite being a dish that should be put under the broiler and served piping hot, it was lukewarm. I ordered Italian pasta with grilled salmon and received a cold congealed plate with a very small piece of dried out salmon. I also ordered green beans which were mushy and tasted like they had sat in a steam tray all day. We waited over 30 minutes for our entrees to be served after finishing our salads. I was told our food was delayed because "we are serving large parties". There were only two of us. We were seated in the "traffic zone" right by the front door as multiple wait staff constantly charged by. Sadly, none of these individuals could bring us our food when it was hot. Our waiter Cade tried very hard to get it right but he was hampered by the fact that he was serving a very large group of people that kept ordering food and then asking for it to be boxed up. I know there are many challenges in the restaurant industry right now and I tried to be understanding, but there doesn't seem to be anyone managing this circus.

The food is wonderful, you have to try the seafood nachos appetizer. Our waitress was fantastic. We had a group of eight and everything was perfect.

Intimate, Clean, Feels like you are dining at home! Friendly, attentive & professional staff. Delicious Food! We enjoyed the Fried Chicken, Pork Tenderloin, Seafood Nachos and Citrus Butter Sea Bass special - all 10++! The yeast rolls are perfect too! We will definitely visit again during our next trip up to see the Cats! This would be great for any special occasion!
