Market Grille in Manchester, Connecticut is a nice combination between an upscale eatery and a casual restaurant. You can meet your coworkers there for drinks just as easily as you could bring your child to Market Grille for their birthday. The menu is mostly modern American cuisine, but there is also an extensive wine and beer list.

The four-cheese lasagna at Market Grille is very good. Two other very popular entrees here are the classic fish and chips and the stuffed domestic pork chop. If you like seafood, the raw bar here will not disappoint. Every day, fresh oysters of all varieties are offered.

The menu choices for the holiday were great. We loved being outside in the enclosed bar area after we were able to move our table slightly due to a freezing cold breeze. The food was delicious, just bad plating choices, in my opinion. Then we were kind of forgotten. I didn’t get my soup with the appetizer and salad, took forever to get our box, the warm apple tart was well done, and the check took forever. Yes there were down points but over all things were great with a he staff politeness and attitude!

We enjoyed the Market Mezze Plate. The hummus and whipped feta were delicious along with the olives, artichoke hearts, roasted tomatoes, chick peas etc. We should’ve asked for some gluten free crackers or bread although there really didn’t seem to be many GF items. We did notice after we ordered that GF pasta was available. I really wish restaurants would just charge the same for GF items so as not to make a big deal about it. So many people need GF these days. And the prices are already on the high end, although portions were generous so we have gotten accustomed to the higher prices of everything. Those hot peppers were pretty hot! Two of us had the chicken piccata which was very tasty but came out of the kitchen warm but not hot. My reason for only 4 stars. One of us had the grain bowl and she said it was really very good. We liked the half price wine deal (on Wednesday) so we plan to come back when the weather is warmer to enjoy the patio. Our server was great. She realized we were having a leisurely lunch and didn’t bother us but kept an eye on us. We had the price fixe lunch and took our desserts to go which were yummy (apple tart). The Caesar salad was fresh but could’ve used a bit more dressing.

I brought my husband for his birthday, and we had a great time. I always love the filet medallions! He enjoyed the special surf and turf and said the snapper was great. It's easy to make a reservation and be seated right away. Will be back!

The food was all excellent. The waiter was very attentive. We were mostly very happy with the experience. The overall noise level was quite high, due to the sound from the bar.

The food at the Market Grill was excellent and very reasonably priced. Our server, Julianna was very patient and friendly. We were there for over two hours and she was fine with that. We made sure to leave a generous tip for her great service..

The maître D and greeters are always pleasant and accommodating. The servers (3 of 5 separate occasions) appear to be lackluster. Slow to come to table, forget to ask at first if you would like something to drink, after bringing the entree not coming back to make sure the order was right, or that you have everything you need. The parties were patient, polite, small (2-4) and the place wasn't packed. One time we got there late, greeter said yes, the kitchen is taking orders for another 20 minutes (gives us menus), server comes over and says we can only get drinks. We asked for clarification from the maitre D, and put our food order in. The other 2 times service was good. Overall the greeters, food, location and atmosphere are fine. Unfortunately service can be inconsistent which is why only that attribute is rated 3 stars and the others are a 4.
