El Marche, situado en Eugene, Oregón, fue inaugurado en agosto de 1998. El restaurante tiene capacidad para 80 comensales y cuenta con una cocina abierta con un precioso horno de leña. El establecimiento también dispone de un bar elegante y una gran zona de comedor al aire libre cubierta con toldos y sombrillas y rodeada de un jardín de hierbas y flores comestibles. Marche, "mercado" en francés, es un término que describe nuestra ubicación en el animado mercado de 5th Street y sobre todo, nuestra filosofía culinaria. La carta se basa en ingredientes frescos, regionales y de temporada que se pueden encontrar en un mercado de granja. El Marche se compromete a utilizar únicamente los mejores ingredientes, de modo que el menú cambia en función de la temporada. El Marche también basa su cocina en los ingredientes más sanos y de mejor calidad del mercado, por lo que utiliza productos ecológicos, de granja y libres de químicos. La técnica culinaria se basa en el método francés, de intenso sabor y con una presentación bonita y sencilla.

One of our favorite restaurants. Never disappointed! Menu options change and always absolutely delicious! Service always excellent. We love Saturday or Sunday brunch. Best time for brunch is 10-10:30 am. We highly recommend Marche.

Every time we are in Eugene, we dine at Marches. Their food and service is the Best!! Christian is always so friendly!! And, our new favorite server is Kaylie!! Best server E V E R !!!!

The main thing to know about Marche is that the culture and ambiance make it a prize of a restaurant in Eugene. The sad drawbacks are just a few: Most importantly, they serve chlorinated tap water. To eat a gourmet meal and then taste chlorine every time you take a sip of their bad tap water is a big oversight on their part. I think it shows that the management has been overly stretched for years to make the right numbers in their books and manage all their other investments in Eugene, and so doesn't pay attention to details. Perhaps the owners only drink wine when they eat there, so they don't know! Oy, the water is so bad, and they don't sell still water, only bubbly. The food is gourmet, but there are important and overlooked features that a better managed restaurant would care to address. The other main example of this is, of course, their French fries. They used to make hand cut homemade French fries. But they went to freezer fries a couple of years ago to save money. SO sad and disappointing. The fries taste and smell like the county fair, but obv. most people don't care enough or eat there enough to make them change back. Lastly, the desserts are just meh and too sweet, and the portions are often times too small. Like last night, we ordered steaks ($48 each!!) and when we asked for no winter squash, only potatoes and root veggies, they did not replace the squash with more potatoes and forgot the root veggies. So I had on my plate one delicious tenderloin and 4 small potatoes! That's it. They should have added more potatoes, so the plate looked balanced and so I had more carbs, or remembered the root veggies. This type thing, judgment calls of quality, happens every time we eat there. It's just not as good as it once was, but it's still good.

Service was excellent, cocktails were just right and everything we ate from appetizers to dessert was incredibly delicious. We came during truffle season and got to sample the truffle risotto (perfect creamy goodness) and enjoyed the best raw oysters I’ve had in years. Lovely, will be returning again.
