   We were a party of 4 all of whom thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the service. We took the set menu which is very good value for money. For our 3 of us went for the Onglet Steak which is exceptionally tasty, and 1 had the Shepherds Pie, which went down very well.

   A lovely meal, but to pay extra for vegetables or salad makes a main course very expensive. Also the desserts were tiny for the price. The waiters were great, but we did feel rushed along. When we’d only had the table for an hour. Minor gripes but it does change the overall experience.

   Lovely evening and very good food with vegan choices. Nice atmosphere and not too noisy. Service overall very good but had to wait on a couple of occasions to catch their attention. Very much a favourite of ours and always enjoy dining here.

   Reasonably priced, excellent menu, friendly service and pleasant surroundings. Pleasantly lively even when we had an early dinner. Highly recommended.

   This is our 3rd or 4th visit to Lussmans in Hertford and although the food was as good as ever, today the service let them down. After we had placed our order 2 more couples came into the restaurant and both sets got their mains before us. Our meals were a steak and a vegetable stew so not things that take a lot of cooking. There was obviously a disconnect between the dining room and the kitchen. Staff apologised but they still added the 12.5% service charge to our bill!

   The food and service were very good but I was rather disappointed in my request for something a little special. I explained it was a significant birthday of my husband's and because he has been ill, it was his first outing in 2 months. Could Lussman do something special, such as a dessert? The request was on-line as I couldn't get any response from phoning the restaurant. When eventually the meal came to an end, I approached someone at the bar to find out if anything was forthcoming. They produced a little stainless steel sundae dish with one scoop of vanilla ice cream with a candle stuck in it. Not what I'd call special. My husband looked at it rather whimsically, thinking it was a joke. I would have been happy to pay for a 'special', but no discussion was offered. Lussmans, you missed a trick, we won't be rushing to return.

   Hello Jenny I am sorry that we did not impress, your request for something special is rather vague. It is so easy to get these things wrong unless directed by the customer. We do our best and its a pity that you will not be rushing back even though the service and food was very good. Best wishes Andrei
