Fui con mi esposa a nuestra cena de aniversario, el lugar no estaba muy lleno cuando llegamos y nos ubicaron en una mesa cerca de la registradora un poco incómoda, después de 15min pedimos q nos cambiarán a otra mas comoda.. El servicio estuvo regular, nos atendió un señor con supuesto acento italiano y cola de caballo, un poco distraido ya que cuando nos trajo el primer apetizer le pedimos pan y se le olvido, al final de la cena pedimos la carta de postre y nos la dejo en la mesa y se fue a conversar con otras personas a otra mesa Como por mas de 25min hasta que me pedimos a otro mesero que nos trajera la cuenta.. En general estuvo bastante bien, solo tienen q prestar más atención al servicio.. No venden alcohol 😥😥😥I went with my wife to our anniversary dinner, the place was not very busy when we arrived and we were placed at a table near the cash register a bit uncomfortable, after 15min we asked to be moved to another more comfortable .. The service was average, We attended a gentleman with a supposed Italian accent and ponytail, a bit distracted since when he brought us the first apetizer we asked for bread and he forgot, at the end of the dinner we ordered the dessert menu and left it at the table and Went to talk with other people to another table As for more than 25 minutes until I asked another waiter to bring the bill .. Overall was pretty good, they just have to pay more attention to service .. Do not sell alcohol 😥😥

There is only one way to describe it: Classic Russia in the heart of New York.
The history of Russian Samovar starts well before the restaurant itself. Originally Jilly's Canteen, and owned by a friend of Frank Sinatra, Jilly Rizzo, Samovar was the go-to hot spot for Sinatra and The Rat Pack.
In 1986, Roman Kaplan, founder of Russian Samovar acquired the property and was joined in 1987 by friends and business partners: Legendary dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov and Nobel Award Winning poet Joseph Brodsky. Baryshnikov's baby grand piano is still used daily by our performers and guests can still request the Brodsky table, where the legends used to sit and drink away the hours. Guests of private events also enjoy our private dining room, where Baryshnikov filmed Sex in the City.
Samovar has remained a celebrity hangout over the years. We've been lucky enough to feature impromptu shows by Liza Minelli and rumor has it that Mel Brooks adapted The Producers to film while sitting at our bar.

Almost 100 years old, this iconic East Village watering hole has pioneered “Dive Elegance”, where craft cocktails and a warm welcome meet. The bar has been a gritty dive bar frequented in the 1990s by The Ramones and The Bouncing Souls, who immortalized it in their “Holiday Cocktail Lounge” song. In the 1980s, Madonna, Iggy Pop and Keith Richards frequented its bar stools. Poets Allen Ginsburg and W.H. Auden were regulars in the 1970s, as was Godlis, who documented the punk rock scene, Frank Sinatra and Shelly Winters made it their haunt in the 1960s. Holiday Cocktail Lounge opened in 1950, succeeding The Ali Baba Burlesque, which entertained guests in the 1940s. The venue began its libational history back in 1919 as a speakeasy hidden in Ann’s Beauty Shop, attracting the likes of Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky during his East Village sojourn. It was the city’s 50th licensed bar when Prohibition ended in 1933. The building itself dates back to 1835.

Bar Marseille's menu highlights classic Southern French cuisine such as Grilled Sea Bass, Roasted Half Chicken and Niçoise salad, as well as bistro classics such as French Onion Soup and Steak Frites. Bar Manager Danny Trujillo oversees our popular cocktail program which highlights French and Mediterranean spirits.

Our wine list features over 100 French, Mediterranean and Domestic selections.

Bar Marseille hosts live music every Friday and DJs every Saturday.

Happy Hour is from 3 - 7 PM at the bar including drinks specials and $1 oysters.

Our rooftop is open from May through October.

While Ipanema sells modern interpretations of classic dishes from Portugal and Brazil,
the menu combines Portuguese recipes with the zest and vibrancy of Brazilian cuisine
rooted in French cooking techniques. Our “cheerful and friendly spot tastes just like
Brazil & Portugal” and feels like a home “inside-of-a-restaurant.”

A seasonal menu by Executive Chef Giancarlo Junyent offers sharing plates of fresh
appetizers and mid courses, with a lovely finale of roasted meats and cured seafood,
followed by decadent desserts and wine.

The upstairs private loft, overlooking 36th street has sexy floor-to-ceiling windows and
is available for private reception parties of up to 50 ppl for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
