El Left Bank es una brasserie de auténtico estilo parisino, ubicada en el histórico Blue Rock Inn, en el precioso centro de Larkspur. We eat at the Left Bank frequently and are usually quite happy. However, last night’s food was below average. In particular, the cheese board had three tiny pieces of cheese, a few peanuts, and some mushy grapes. The French fries were also not as good as usual. On the plus side, out server was excellent.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch served by ,Enrique, who was professional, welcoming, attentive and friendly. The local Fanny Bay oysters were delicious, chilled with mignonette and cocktail sauce. Escargot were delicious and served with toasted bread. Outstandingly different were some of the best calamari ever! Served on a bed of mustard aioli, perfectly tender, well fried with onion strings and string beans. I would go back for the calamari alone! Not a pear lover, Enrique, ordered the crab salad for me with a Dijon dressing instead of the pear vinaigrette. The crab was fresh and delicious but frankly, not enough of it for $35. Also had the Cassoulet which was delicious but contained only one piece of very fatty duck. Both the crab salad and the Cassoulet were daily specials. Despite nitpicking of these last two items, the food here gets our highest rating. They have a lovely wine list and since we were celebrating a big anniversary we had a delicious sparkling rosé and an outstanding glass of Frank Family Chardonnay. A very satisfying experience all around dining at Left Bank, Larkspur….the original!

Service and ambiance was good, however the halibut Catch of the Day was a bit dry. Either it was cooked too long, or not truly fresh (or both). The flavor was good, but the dryness made it underwhelming.

We enjoyed a delightful Christmas Eve dinner. The place was packed with holiday revelers, complete with decorations and a lively band. Food and beverages were delicious , and the service was pleasant and efficient. A wonderful evening!

Our food was so delicious. We all had something different and tasted each other’s. From oysters to mussels to prime rib to beef bourgignon, the food was stupendous. The service was good and the general manager Kevin was great! We will be back. It was a lovely Christmas Eve.

It’s the holidays and it’s great to be in a busy restaurant. Our server had a huge section with little support. In addition to our table of 6, she had a table of 8, 12, 16 and a few 2 and 4 tops. Considering she was the only server, she did the best she could with no support. Every table waited for drinks, water refills, and good. When we got our food, they brought out the incorrect $50 steak bc they had run out of filet so they automatically substituted ribeye. Our server said she didn’t know they ran out but no one had told us prior to the kitchen making it so we could consider a different option. All the food was brought st the same time so we got all our appetizers and entrees together. The food itself was good enough but it was not coursed and timed. So it’s hard to eat an appetizer, a salad and 1/2 of the wrong steak at the same time. was it a good value? No. The whole experience was defined by the thoroughly inadequate service and we won’t be going back.
