LaSalle Grill, a modern American Bistro featuring steaks and chops and seafood cooked over a live hardwood fire, is born of the dream of experienced restaurateur Mark McDonnell. Like the restaurant’s namesake, noted French explorer, Robert de LaSalle, McDonnell set out to explore the uncharted waters of downtown South Bend, Indiana. LaSalle Grill is committed to providing guests with unrivaled hospitality and excellent service, great atmosphere, an award-winning wine list and, most importantly, delicious cuisine that is artfully and dramatically presented.

The Grill has been presented with the coveted AAA Four Diamond Award every year since 1996. The wine list is also exceptional with many bottles priced under $75.00. The list has also won the Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence sine 2023.

LaSalle Catering is the off-premise catering arm of LaSalle Grill. LaSalle Catering specializes in all sizes of catered events in a 60 mile radius of South Bend, Indiana. We are particularly adept in executing difficult events in unusual locations. As founder Mark McDonnell likes to say, "difficult is not impossible". It's the little details that count. They make the difference between "a nice event" and "a great party!" At LaSalle Catering & Events we pay attention to all of the little details of your event ... the preparations, presentations and above all the service.

As expected, our visit to LaSalle Grill was terrific. The prime rib was superb and our server was great. Of course, we'll be back.

For the last decade I have rated the LaSalle Grill as South Bend's top restaurant. But last night was a disaster. My wife and I made reservations in response to its announcement of a special prime rib weekend. We made reservations for 7:00, arrived on time, and ordered the prime rib, only to be told that, because of a high number of walk-in guests, they were out of prime rib. Other than lame apologies, we were offered nothing to mitigate the disaster. So, we left. We may or may not return in the future. We were more disappointed by the management's response to the situation than the fact that they had not anticipated the response to their prime rib special.
