TAVERNA is nestled in Saskatoon's historic downtown core within walking distance of a number of major hotels in the renowned entertainment district. The building was originally the grocery section of the J.F. Cairns Department Store dating back to 1907. Taverna still maintains a historical charm and character, serving delicious, exceptionally well-prepared Italian American food since 1969. Simultaneously comfortable yet aspirational.     The French Onion soup was some of the best I’ve had. All of the food was outstanding (we had the Lamb and Ribeye). The beignets at the end of the night were a great way to top it off. Carver’s is a pricier option of a date night, but I’d say it’s absolutely worth it!

    Date night at Taverna - truly incredible experience. I had never been and my boyfriend hadn't been in years. It was amazing - the food was so delicious and the service was phenomenal!

    A truly lovely evening. Chef Brian and the staff at Grouse took such great care of us. From our coats being checked to our prompt payment being taken, each step of our evening was thoughtful and effortless. Service was unobtrusive but precise with plates and cutlery being switched and wine and cocktails constantly flowing. The scallop dish was my star of the evening with a beautiful balance of rich flavours. It is so wonderful to see the menu change by season. I highly recommend placing your trust in this staff to deliver a spectacular dinner.

    Good service and good food. Portions are a bit small, and it is quite noisy. But overall it was good!
