The fish boil kettle is brought to a boil over an open fire… when the fish is cooked to perfection, a small amount of kerosene is poured into the base of the fire. The result? A spectacular burst of flames and the famous boil-over that leaves the food ready to be immediately served at your table inside the restaurant.     We were there for Happy Hour and early dining. The staff was very attentive and courteous. the food and drinks were delicious. Whenever we have visited in the summer and also in the winter, the food and staff have been exceptional. We highly recommend dining at Chop and their sister restaurant Lure.

    My family has been coming to Door County since I was a child and we have seen the progression of restaurants in Door County over the years. The Blue Bear/Della Porta in Ellison Bay is leading a new direction for Door County. Local farm to table food executed in a delicious and simple way is priceless. You can taste the love that goes into the food and service. Definitely going to return many more times.

    Delicious food but fries were cold. Great service. Dining room was cold. Zinc tables don’t help keeping the food hot.

    Pizza was excellent - food great. Dessert -so so. Gelato I think was in freezer too long and chocolate tasted like hersey syrup . Service wonderful .
