REX at The Royal, now operating out of the newly-renovated theatre, maintains key tenets of the historical site including a stage for live music performances, as well as sweeping arches and other details sustained from the original design. REX at The Royal cuisine pays homage to the great early 20th-century African-American chefs who adapted traditional southern fare to Philadelphia’s urban landscape. Hello, we are Sansom Kabob House. A local Afghan restaurant bringing authentic Afghan cuisine from the core of Afghanistan. We originally opened on October 2nd, 2002. We were on 1526 Sansom St. for 14 years and then moved to 1300 South St. We create gourmet Afghan food that you can find in Afghanistan or here at our Philadelphia location. We have mouthwatering flavors starting from our bread to our kabobs. Our bread's recipe and technique have been passed down from the founder's great-great-grandfather, who owned an array of bakeries and managed many restaurants in Kabul. Passed through generations to our chef, who brought delicious meals to 15th and Sansom of Philadelphia. Then from 15th and Sansom to 1300 South St. We have delectable food that you fall in love with and will bring comfort to you, from our meat lovers to our vegans. We do reservations, groups, take-out, delivery, catering, waiter service, and maintain a great family environment.

1st visit and already planning to return. Our server Steph gave us plenty of time and made wonderful suggestions. Delicious food plus it's BYOB.

Our table was ready for us at the reserved time. Excellent service, all of the food brought to our table was appealing in presentation, at the right temperature, and very tasty. The manager (owner?) was very interested in our satisfaction with our experience. This was my first visit, and I will definitely be back.

Great place. We went early on aSlow Saturday night. I imagine during games or busy nights it could get loud. Excellent fish tacos. Portions were good. We will be back
