Situated in the historic village of Aylesford, The Hengist is a modern restaurant and bar, a short walk from the river's edge.The 16th Century building stands with original features, offering a perfect balance of elegance, heritage and modernity all surrounded by manicured gardens. The Hengist offers a range of dining options including a casual dining option on the ground floor and two more formal dining rooms upstairs along with outside terrace dining in our gardens. I had beef lasagne with garlic bread, my friend had beef and mushroom pie with chips followed by lemon cheesecake with ice cream, it was delicious.

Office lunch for 4 people, food, drink and desserts were delicious. The setting is really lovely, comfortable and clean. The service was a little slow but we were conscious of time, if you have plenty of time this would not be a problem as you don't feel rushed. Desserts were the star of the show on our visit- we will be returning!

From cocktails to coffee excellent food and service. The chefs surpass anything you could imagine and all of the staff are friendly fun and attentive. Couldn't recommend a better place to spend an evening enjoying cocktails and superb food.
