Family owned and run Mua was one of the first restaurants to open in what was then Auto Row in Oakland, in 2008. Very homey place (where Aunt Mary’s used to be)with warm skillful service. The food is great. We had the family meal for the table ($75 per person). It was fried petrale sole with lots of accompanying side dishes. First course was boiled peanuts in a delicious sauce. Peanuts were soft and yummy. The dessert was amazing. They called it a panna cotta but it was more custardy and topped with a few pomagrant seeds and a tiny amount pomegranate granita. It was very good and we ate it all even though we were very full.

Mua was a compmete surprise! Suggested by Open Table, the space is captivating, lively and great food. We had softshell crab, chicken milanese, burrata with grilled veggies in a very good sweet balsamic. Champagne then tea and two excelkent desserts, chocolate pecan pie with ice cream and breadpudding with cremey anglese.Very good value smart food with interesting people.
