Built in the early 17th century, this grade two listed pub is the oldest coaching inn in Frodsham, originally having stabling for 23 horses. The stables can still be seen opposite the rear of the pub, as can the coach house with its large white doors.Known at the time as The King's Head the name was changed when Queen Victoria came to the throne in 1837.

Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca. We got in easily but they didn't have our reservation and announced that they no longer use Open Table. Someone from Open Table should contact them and either stop confirming a reservation or restore the account so te customer doesn't get blind sided when they show up on a busy night.

Ordered a mixed grill and a chicken tikka. Got no eggs for the mixed grill, would you like an extra sausage? That was a question! What should I do? I know shall I nip across the road to the co-op and get some? No your alright. When it came the size of the gammon steak was massive. Food was OK but not presented very well. But it was a night out with my boy so it didn't matter.
