El Jacmel Inn se abrió en junio de 1977, después de 6 meses reformando el establecimiento en el que se encuentra, construido en 1888. Este establecimiento antiguo de 2 plantas ocupa casi 1 hectárea y se sitúa a 9 calles del centro histórico de Hammond. El exuberante paisaje, el nuevo patio y el amplio aparcamiento hacen del Jacmel Inn un oasis culinario al que merece la pena ir, a solo 96 kilómetros de Nueva Orleans. El menú de platillos ha evolucionado a lo largo de los años, pero siempre utiliza marisco fresco de Luisiana y técnicas de cocina y platillos derivados de la cultura tradicional de Luisiana. Hace 31 años que sirve filetes excelentes de res de Iowa alimentada con maíz. El chef Doyle Orlando crea un menú de platillos que cambia cada temporada. En estos últimos 20 años, los comensales han disfrutado mucho de la temporada de cenas con diferentes bodegas como invitadas. El ambiente es como el de una posada de Nueva Inglaterra de estilo náutico y caribeño. Los comensales se sentirán a gusto vistiendo de forma informal o más elegante.

These impressive reproduction chandeliers and wall sconces were custom made for Monmouth by the artisans at Waterford Crystal in Ireland.Guests have complete dining freedom when they reserve a table at Restaurant 1818. Here guests can select menu items on an a la carte basis from the gourmet appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, and desserts offered that evening. A full wine list and wine by the glass program is available to ensure your dining experience is the very best Natchez has to offer! Private dining by candlelight is also offered for 8 to 12 people at the main dining room table.     1818 at Monmouth is an exquisite restaurant. The minute you walk through the front door you feel welcome. You leave the outside world behind , you have entered another realm. There is a sense of calm and tranquility. The quiet and relaxing atmosphere often with soft music playing or sometimes a live pianist filling the home with melodic splendor. The service is excellent and attentive . I have tried several items in the menu . My favorite is the filet mignon. I tried the seasonal butternut squash soup on my last visit which was perfection. They have a nice wine list and all the appetizers are good as well as the gumbo . If you wish to plan a romantic weekend trip , please support Natchez and stay at Monmouth and visit 1818. You will not be disappointed.

    The food was always delicious at the Inn, but the new chef has taken it to a new level! Farm fresh ingredients with great flavor combinations that have put the food over the top. If you haven’t been lately, put it on the top of your list. And of course the staff is always so friendly and professional.

    The Deviled Eggs were amazing! Also recommend the Rigatoni Au Gratin and the Poached Halibut. However, I didn't care for the ceviche - it was very bitter. And I found the Bouillabaisse to have a strong fishy flavor.
