The restaurant pays homage to Petronella de Meath, the first woman to be burned at the stake, just meters away from our restaurant 700 years ago. The food was extremely good. Especially the pork belly and sticky toffee pudding. The menu was set for Christmas, which was a little confusing The menu included a welcome drink, but I did not get it and had to pay more. That is a mistake. The food was served quickly. Will definitely return. very pleasant atmosphere

As far as restaurants go in Kilkenny. Petronella has jumped right up to the top of my list. Welcoming staff, great food, great history and great vibes had with the restaurant. Selection is minimal but well varied. Drinks selection is also minimal but caters for everybody. There are not a huge amount of seats so it is recommended to book in advance.
