Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous Fried Chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. Really enjoyed brunch. It's been awhile since I've visited, but I see the food is still as great as ever! Chicken and waffle combo was super good, service was very courteous and prompt. So glad they've implemented online reservations. All staff I encountered were really nice and they make you feel welcome.

We had the hanger steak, stake frits, and a hamburger. All were delicious and cooked according to our request. We love the food, atmosphere and location of LM and will return soon.

Every dish was a surprising delight. We ordered the rice table. I wasn’t sure what to expect, and found a feast of delicious and very different foods. The chicken satay redefined that dish for me. The clams with some kind of chewy pork infused croutons was fantastic. The corn fritters were to die for, as was the apple cider donut for dessert. We left both completely stuffed and sure to come back. Our server was lovely and knowledgeable.

The drinks are very good but a bit on the pricier side for the amount that you are served. The food is amazing and we tried the Chinese broccoli, won tons, pork with noodles and pork with rice. All the dishes were savory. The best part is the kitchen will cater to your culinary needs. My wife is allergic to cilantro so they took special care to keep it out of the dishes we ordered. Excellent job. The waitstaff were friendly and quick. We will definitely make the trip from SW Portland back to Oma’s. Parking is a bit rough on a Saturday night so either take Uber or give yourself plenty of time to find a spot in a crowded neighborhood.
