Grotta di Fuoco, which translates to Fire Cave, is an industrial, rustic space with subtle lighting, raw steel, reclaimed wood, and concrete finishes. Step inside, descend below street level, and enter our vision of a cave. As for the fire, our focal point is a wood burning oven right next to the bar. You can sit close enough to feel the warmth, hear the crackle, and smell the scent of food being cooked, all while being entranced by the open flame. In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors.     Fantastic friendly vibe, the quality of purveying every item on the menu is consistently a 10. . The recipes are genuinely original and the selection of different meats, fish,pastas, salads and brick oven pizza are endless. I’ve been eating at DaNicola from day one and it NEVER disappoints my family and friends for any occasion. It’s a NYC experience at half the price of any 5 star restaurant!! Nicky the owner/chef of the restaurant loves satisfying his loyal customers with his home cooking!! Kudos to Marci, Donna and Stavros for their service.

    Excellent Christmas Eve dining experience with superb food, service and a festive atmosphere to top everything off. We went the route of all appetizers, which were cooked to perfection and bursting was amazing flavor. The hand-crafted cocktails were equally terrific and the 12 days of Christmas drink menu was genius and had a wonderful array of choices!! Two thumbs up for creativity and a way to set yourself apart from the rest of the field for holiday dining.
