The Salthouse Tavern is a large, two-roomed, friendly local pub, in the heart of east Hull, close to the village of Sutton, Howdale Road, Salthouse Road and Gleneagle Park. The food was fantastic, one of the best steaks I have had. The service was very slow, but I think this was down to it being two days before Christmas and it was very busy. Despite that, I would definitely visit again for a steak.

Calamari oily. Lasagne stodgy as 2 sheets stuck together and overcooked. No seasoning either. Husband enjoyed his meal though. Had to ask twice for a couple of things. Meals not confirmed before walking away and had to amend something quickly. Felt a bit rushed. Overpriced in places too.

The restaurant was very quiet with only 2 tables occupied of which one was ours. The waiter was very good & looked after us well. We had the Mediterranean Platter that was available over the summer. The food was excellent & there was plenty of it!
