Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Feel the comforting rumble of trains passing overhead conjuring memories of some of our favourite haunts underneath the bridges in NYC - a place where, with the blinds rolled down and away from prying eyes, a decadent lunch can swiftly roll into dinner.

Open since 1985, this delightful, unpretentious restaurant in Forest Hill, London, is renowned for its stunning and innovative modern Indian cuisine. Babur's stylish, earthy interior features exposed brick walls, natural wooden furniture and beautiful handmade Bengali artworks. The intimate atmosphere and sensational staff have made Babur a favourite dining destination with Forest Hill locals, and the food is worth making a trip across town for. We highly recommend the spicy sardine fish cake stuffed with caramelised figs; sandalwood ostrich infused with fenugreek; and black cod in spices and mustard oil with mustard mash. Absolutely loved it!! Friendly service, but not overbearing, wait staff had really good knowledge of wine list and menu. Also got to hear a bit of the origin story which is always really cool. Food absolutely banging! Fish selection was really good, lamb belly, chicken skewers and pork belly were standouts! Lamb belly might be the dish of the night! Dad’s broth was a fun addition and story. Best dinner in Peckham for a while! Definitely a returning customer!

We visited with our baby to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Our waiter went above and beyond to give us a memorable experience, and was incredibly accommodating to meet all of our needs. His knowledge of the menu, and recommendations were spot on. The food was delicious, service was impeccable, nothing was too much trouble. Service from entry to leaving was wonderful from every member of staff we encountered.

A great local Bistro/cafe with a great ambience. Food and drinks are always great as is the service. Enjoyed Thursday Mac and Cheese which is excellent value and delicious. Highly Recommended.
