Taking inspiration from Lisbon’s vibrant rooftop culture, JOIA Rooftop Bar offers guests sweeping views of London’s Grade II* listed Battersea Power Station and the city beyond whilst championing the best of British and Iberian produce, bringing Henrique Sá Pessoa’s modern take on Iberian flavours outdoors. Signature dishes from JOIA restaurant, such as Octopus salad with red pepper, potato and smoked paprika and Tuna tartare with avocado and sea lettuce, alongside exclusive items for the rooftop, including the Cuttlefish Bun and Prego sandwiches. Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Feel the comforting rumble of trains passing overhead conjuring memories of some of our favourite haunts underneath the bridges in NYC - a place where, with the blinds rolled down and away from prying eyes, a decadent lunch can swiftly roll into dinner.

I recently dined solo at Blacklock Canary Wharf, and it was a fantastic experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. I started with a delicious mocktail ,followed by a perfectly cooked fillet, tender and juicy at medium doneness. The sweet potatoes and beets with goats cured were absolutely outstanding. To finish, the bread and butter pudding with custard was the perfect indulgence. An all-around amazing meal with exceptional service.
