El Jacmel Inn se abrió en junio de 1977, después de 6 meses reformando el establecimiento en el que se encuentra, construido en 1888. Este establecimiento antiguo de 2 plantas ocupa casi 1 hectárea y se sitúa a 9 calles del centro histórico de Hammond. El exuberante paisaje, el nuevo patio y el amplio aparcamiento hacen del Jacmel Inn un oasis culinario al que merece la pena ir, a solo 96 kilómetros de Nueva Orleans. El menú de platillos ha evolucionado a lo largo de los años, pero siempre utiliza marisco fresco de Luisiana y técnicas de cocina y platillos derivados de la cultura tradicional de Luisiana. Hace 31 años que sirve filetes excelentes de res de Iowa alimentada con maíz. El chef Doyle Orlando crea un menú de platillos que cambia cada temporada.     Jacmel Inn will cater any event within a 50-mile radius of Hammond anytime. We will custom design a menu to fit the customer's budget, food preferences or creative requests. We specialize in wedding events.

    My wife and I have been coming to this restaurant over the last few years. We have enjoyed ourselves, the food and the ambience. Tonight was different…We are not sure what the expectation is. Is the theme Tapas or regular dishes? My lamb shank was excellent, and the Eggplant appetizer however, my wife’s dish the drum was very, very small and not very tasty with bloodline. please offer bread to the table without the charge… we will come back, just trying to offer feedback

    We have been to Jacmel in excess of 100 times over the last 20 plus years. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has declined, and over the last few visits, it has drastically declined. We typically spend over $200.00 per visit. I have never sent a meal back in all my restaurant experiences, even when the food is not cooked to order. However, last night, we were with a group of people, and they requested my meal to be sent back—even though I personally wouldn’t have said anything. I ordered my steak rare, as I always do, but it was served well done. We do not mind paying good money for a great experience and high-quality food. Our servers have always been excellent, and Karl (not sure if it’s spelled with a “C” or a “K”) has consistently been a pleasure to have as our waiter. At this point, I’m unsure when—or if—we will return to Jacmel, given the bad food experiences we’ve had during our last few visits.

    The Deviled Eggs were amazing! Also recommend the Rigatoni Au Gratin and the Poached Halibut. However, I didn't care for the ceviche - it was very bitter. And I found the Bouillabaisse to have a strong fishy flavor.

    Went last minute for lunch. Food was delicious and drink specials were fun. It was hard to decide what to order as it all looked so good.

    First night of new menu and manu good choices!! Deck breast served very rare, halibut was very good, bouillabaisse was delicious but not hot when served and same for mushroom risotto. For dessert cheesecake was delicious as was cookies and “milk”. Owner, Alfonso, was very present, helping serve at times and visited our table for feedback which is a plus in my book. Looking forward to a return dinner soon.

    Amazing in every way! This place is so unique, and the food is unreal. Definitely try the rigatoni! You will not be disappointed.
