Very disappointed in Trani’s! We’re given the worst table in the restaurant! A tiny table at the bottom of the ramp. This table shouldn’t exist! When you sit at this table, you are at eye level with all the butts that are sitting at the table above you! Which made the ambience horrible! The people at the table above us were very loud, so I couldn’t hear my guest. Menu was very limited as it was valentines weekend which was not mentioned when I booked my reservation. I came there for pasta and they only had one option for that at fifty dollars. My guest wanted the steak that they always get, but that wasn’t on this limited menu. Had drinks and an app and left! Horrible experience!

This was our first time at J. Trani’s. We loved the idea of the family restaurant history. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. We like the historical photos. The service was professional, unassuming, and friendly. The food was excellent. Servings were large and fairly priced. Loved it and we will be back!

We celebrated my husband’s birthday which unfortunately fell on a Saturday night, hence the noise level. I requested a quiet table when I made the reservation and we were seated in a corner booth, about a quiet as possible for Saturday. Our server was attentive, but not hovering. I had Majestic rigatoni, it was very good though I had already had two slices of the delicious bread and couldn’t finish. The birthday boy had the hanger steak and as typical ordered it well done. He said it was the best he had ever had. We were pleasantly surprised when our server said that by crème brûlée could be packaged to take home for his dessert. All together a most satisfying evening.

Delicious as always. Great service from the minute we walked in the door we had friendly smiling faces. Wait staff was attentive and fast. Lasagna was meaty, full of tangy saucy. Very tasty. Wish I had room for dessert.

This old school San Pedro institution serves consistently good Italian pasta, seafood, and meat. The “new style” calamari we always have is amazing. I love their hangar steak is my fav. But the swordfish! Wow!
