   This was my first time eating at Higgins. The food and service were excellent. However, it was very noisy. There were four of us, and we could hear one another speaking, but conversations from other tables was distracting. Perhaps some draperies and carpeting would soften the sound.

   To start, he chile granite to go with the oysters was excellent. The rhubarb compote to go with the duck three ways wonderful and the duck was cooked perfectly. The polenta cake was a nice addition. My friend had the Salmon with beluga lentils which was also perfectly cooked and the fiddleferns added a nice crunchy bite to go with the dish.

   We have loved the special presentation of local seasonal flavors at Higgins for years. One of our favorites.

   Easily seated, the table are a bit crowded but otherwise nice ambiance. The waiter was very helpful in modifying my order. The food delivery was a bit longer than we had hoped, but it was bearable. The food was great. I always enjoy eating at Higgins.

   Really just a very solid meal. We had the duck and a salmon special. They were both outstanding. Had the gems salad, the terrines, mushrooms, and the special dessert and honestly it was just all very very high quality. No like 6/5 "you have to order this", just 5/5 for every single item, which is quite difficult to do. Our drinks were great too!

   Usually come to Higgins for dinner or early evening to eat at the bar. First time for lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

   A great Portland Farm to Table experience. Loved the food and the ambience. The price is a little high so it is a restaurant I will visit for very special occasions...

    Always a first rate experience. Food and service are excellent. We’ve been going there for 30 years and Higgins never disappoints.
