Hana Japan Steakhouse in Berkeley California specializes in teppanyaki and hibachi cuisine. The menu features USDA Choice Black Angus beef, grilled seafood items as well as vegetarian options. Try the Hibachi Salmon for a tasty dinner, the popular New York Steak or our newly added House Dry Aged Rib-Eye. Dinner items are served with a salad featuring our special organic Hana dressing, house soup, steamed rice and seasonal vegetables. Hana Japan’s menu also serves a kid-friendly dishes. Serving the San Francisco Bay area since 1979, Hana Japan draws a local regular crowd and proudly serve during dinner hours. Diners get to enjoy special discounts on their birthdays when they visit with parties of four or more. We are now open for dinner seven days a week. Reservations are Highly Recommended.

Premiere Hibachi Menu. This is the premiere hibachi pre-fixe menu: a multi-course, teppanyaki experience which all guests will enjoy our house soup and house salad, a full entree per guest that includes fresh seasonal vegetables, garlic fried rice or chicken fried rice or shrimp fried rice, and USDA Choice House Aged Ribeye, Filet Mignon, White Shrimp, and Cold Water Lobster Tail. This menu is priced at $69.50 per person (not including 20% service fee, tax, appetizer, dessert, or beverages) and the entire party must be included. Payment due at the restaurant. Where possible, we will accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies, and of course, you are welcome to add on extra hibachi items from our regular menu.
Hibachi Classics - $45 per guest

Classic Hibachi. Mi experiencia in hana japan was excelente! Adoro este restaurant llevo 6 anos festejando mi cumpleanos ahi..la cena, el servicio. El CHEF todo es magnifico!

We went to celebrate our anniversary with my wife food was great ,until we ask for another drink and the waitress take to long and i ask for the same drink but to another worker who was serving me water. She got my drink and 10 minutes later my original waitress came to talk to me really rude. Questioning me as to why i asked the other employee for the same drink that i had already waited around 15 minutes for. I did not appreciate how she came to talk to me about it, when the solution shouldve been her apologizing for not getting my drink sooner

My family has been going here for years to celebrate special occasions and over time, the “show” aspect has gone down, but the food, drinks and service have been strong. Not any more. The food all tasted the same, the ‘show’ aspect was simply aligning onion slices to make a volcano and lighting the whole thing on fire, including half the veggies. I asked for a knife because the steak and veggie chunks were too large to be bite size. The Asian Pear martini (normally very good in Dublin) was all sweet and sour in Berkeley. The location is nice, but Berkeley has nothing else going for it. We came to celebrate our anniversary with our adult kids and will not be back. I will try Dublin again but this is a huge disappointment.

It’s always a fun time dining at Hana Japan. Our chef was amazing and very entertaining and the food was absolutely delicious.

I took my son to dinner last night and the best part was the service from the waitress. A very pleasant, friendly young lady with braces was the very best part of the experience. That young lady was exceptional,thank you to her! The cook dropped the knife on the floor and continued to use it and after that I completely lost my appetite. (I only ate rice and shrimp due to the knife being dropped)The food was tasty but I think my overall experience was tainted by the cooks actions. I paid in full and even left a tip but I definitely don’t believe I would ever return and spend my hard earned money here.
