                                                                I booked this restaurant as a Christmas treat for my friend and I before we watched the show at Sadlers Wells. The initial entrance is welcoming though the dining area at the back is bland. We ordered the crab with avocado which was delicate and light. Then I had the duck leg which was accompanied with potato cubes and green beans. It was tasty enough but not a generous portion. We did receive ONE slice of bread and I had to ask for another as I was starving. For dessert I had the passion fruit alaska which was small and full of passion fruit. Service was on the slow side, we were nearly finished our starter before we received our drinks. Clear up post main was slow as was getting our bill and I was getting stressed as we needed to head to the theatre. The bill was nearly £150 which I though expensive as my friend only had one glass of wine and I was still hungry so I didn't feel I got my money's worth.

                                                                Our best restaurant experience of 2024. Airy, bright seating area, interesting menu and outstanding service made this a meal to remember before heading off to Sadlers Wells. Looking forward to returning some time soon.

                                                                We had a wonderful dinner at Frederick's. The food was great (and having been ripped off at other, pricier establishments, I appreciated having bread and butter included in the price!). What made the evening was the staff. All were friendly, interested and focused on us (no hanging around for dessert, as often happens). The sommelier really made our evening. He asked us what we liked about wine (several questions about the qualities/flavours) and then chose a bottle that suited our tastes, food and price range. He really was excellent. His passion for wine was infectious! Loved the whole experience and will definitely be back.

                                                                Our first time at Frederick’s. A nice greeting as we arrived and staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good, nice size portions. Wine was very good. A really nice evening and we would definitely go here again

                                                                Had a fantastic birthday lunch there yesterday. Great menu! The food and service spot on. We stayed for drinks afterwards and met up with friends. The bartender/mixologist makes a mean Whiskey Sour.

If, Reader, you have not been, please put this at the front of the queue. Immeasurably more atmosphere and better quality food and wine than going out in the Square Mile. Thanks! John
