The Grape Variety is a neighbourhood, independent wine bar, shop and restaurant, selling great wines and food from around the world, located just 2 minutes from Chipstead Railway Station.We opened in the spring of 2018 with the aim that a wine bar should cater not just to experts, but to all, so we created one where our guests could unwind at the end of the day with a great wine in a warm, friendly and genuine environment, whilst getting sound advice about which wines to enjoy, as well as to take away.For food, we offer quality artisan cheese and charcuterie, alongside dishes such as baked Camembert, bakery sausage rolls, hot chorizo and potato, hummus with a spicy sauce, Spanish pâté and the like. Good food, but quite a limited menu. I tried the Green Curry with chicken, which was excellent. My wife tried the fermented fish, which is apparently from NE Thailand. It was super hot, with no sauce to help cool it. She loved the flavours, but had to bring half it home, to enjoy with some yoghurt on the side. We will go back there.

The food is exceptional I can’t recommend this place enough. The wild boar vindaloo and the butter chicken are mouth watering! It’s so different to your normal curry house

Great service friendly staff. We booked via an open table experience for my daughter's birthday. The king prawn puree was excellent. Portion sizes were good. We had chicken tikka, fish tikka, chicken shaslic, lamb biryani, butter and garlic nans, plain rice. Enjoyed the bengali beer as had not had it before. Definitely worth a visit.
